HOLY CRAP, VAN BUREN ONLINE!

Awesome!

Sad to know however, that sprites die out. Will at least the extern rendered sceneries remain?
And will there be a option to add new content without wiping the server?

I like it.

I do remember, however, that that the female animations were done on the male skeleton, which is why they look kind of 'off'. Is that still the case, or have they been tweaked a bit?

Gore animations and particle effects are still on the to do list. Right now, there is no blood or splatter visible on the 3d models.

Really nice job so far Smiley...

Is it necessary to wipe the server later again to implement new 3D Models, Gore etc. or can u implement them via normal updates after the wipe which will come now?

say i wonder... would it be possible for one to stay with 2d animations ? like his character npc characters that were covered till now, and possibly also other PC character to use old frames rather then new 3d?
after all i dont realy care if someone else is bold or not so we could just ignore the settings other have and just display them with standard animations.
only the possibly new added critters would need to be 3d ...

( i think it should be quite doable as animations are client side )

I'm also a bit sad about the oldstyle sprites... maybe but I think somebody will do oldschool looking models in some time. Generally 2.5d is cool, just don't change brahmins into cows, if there is no two-headed model lets stay with the sprite.

The wipe is independant of the 3D stuff, so adding extra stuff doesn't need a wipe.

But I guess a wipe doesnt really hurt, get rid of old characters that havn't been deleted and other shit Wink

Also its not that hard that hard to restart, if you play aloooot you can be lvl21 in a week.

Are there plans for duck/crawl animations as they were in FT? Also is it possible to add "ladder effect" into FO now aka climbing the buildings roof? Or is it going to be good old "change of floor=loading"?

Anyway its fantastic news, can't wait to see it in action.

Great thing ;) I didn't even realised it will look that good. Of course it's not like ol' good 2d - but it opens gate to much more variety(And will be great for RP'ers, I think ;])
What about TLA? It's going to stay 2d way? (People could have some alternative if they really hate new 3d thingie)

Anyway - Great Job! :)

EDIT:
Oh, I almost forgot - What about directions for modellers?
